Blue & white china pieces
'Reciprocal' Watercolour 35cm x 27cm

Each time I dug over the vegetable patch or weeded the flower garden I'd often find a little gift of colour amidst the brown earth and would always save it. Exchanges, offered up from the mud, for my bulb and seed planting. A good swap I liked to think! Once beautiful pieces of crockery in a time when they were whole and each with its own story to wonder about, of who once held it and how it came to be broken, discarded & buried. Broken but still beautiful...these fragments come together in a different way, painted as a collection.
