about

I am an artist living and working in south Norfolk. I am continually inspired by the wonderful landscapes and richness of wildlife which surround me, but I also find beauty in everyday objects and much charm in the buzz & humdrum of small town life and village communities. In my current artwork I hope to illuminate the overlooked in order to share its often hidden, extraordinary qualities.

The single certainty of my life has been a need to create art in some form in order to try to make tangible the images and ideas which constantly fill my head. After studying art to foundation level as a teenager I undertook a variety of art and design based careers and commissions. These have been as diverse as hand painting traditional English bargeware for a Japanese department store; reproducing antique 18th century patterns & motifs on classic crockery pieces for Lowestoft Porcelain; designing and painting large, bespoke, picture tile splashbacks for clients in the UK, USA and further afield; to designing and running children's art workshops IN a field, such as a 300sqm Venus de Milo created using three shades of bin liner and photographed from an aeroplane. I have been commissioned by companies such as Penguin Books, Original Style and William Evans of London.

Honing the skills acquired from over twenty years of these creative experiences, I am now focusing on producing paintings, prints and unique hand crafted items inspired by the themes which are closest to my heart & home.
